Chart is a graphical representation of statistical data. Different types of data require different types of charts in order to provide a meaningful representation. Some common charts are line chart, bar chart, histogram and pie chart.
Bar chart uses strips of same width but different lengths to represent frequencies of various categories. Generally, it is used to display nominal and ordinal data. For example, the result of a survey about students’ most favorite subjects can be represented by a bar chart.
